Hi Parents,

Parent/Teacher communication is very important to me which is why I'd like to inform you of all the opportunities we have to meet as well as your options for online communication. Our first parent-teacher conference will be on September 12th from 4:30-7:30pm. I really encourage you all to try and attend this first conference so we can meet and I can introduce the classroom to you all as well as describe some of my anticipation/expectations for the year. The next conference will be November 13th from 4:30-7:30pm and November 14th from 12:30-2:30pm. Finally our last parent-teacher conference will be March 4th from 4:30-7:30pm and March 5th from 12:30-2:30pm. Additionally, on May 7th we will have our "Student-Led" conferences where you are welcome to come in with your child from 4:30-7:30pm and they can discuss with your some of their experiences in the 1st grade this year (including their strengths and what they'd like more support with). 

Aside from parent-teacher conferences we also have parent engagement hours every Tuesday from 2:35pm-3:05pm. If you'd like to meet during that time please write me a note and we can schedule that meeting. 

Last, we use the "Remind" app for immediate parent-teacher communication. I have set up our class login information for the app. To begin, please text the number 81010 with the message "@dc8774". Once you do so, you will be prompted to download the Remind app, which will then bring you to our class page. Once downloaded, please sign up using your child's first and last name so I know who I am speaking with. I am available on Remind from 6am to 5pm every day so please feel free to write to me at those times. I will answer as soon as I can. I also use Remind to send homework, as well as any other important information.
